CEU and Reporting Information


 

If a participant misses the reporting deadline set by SCSHA, the participant will need to submit an appeal so that the CEU’s appear on their ASHA CE Registry. The process for submitting an ASHA appeal is detailed below:

NOTES RE: ASHA Requirements:

  • The American Speech-Language Hearing Association CCC renewal requires specific area of training in two content areas. For more information on ASHA continuing education requirement for certificate holders, please refer to the ASHA website for further information.
  • ASHA requires every CCC-SLP who supervises or intends to supervise any graduate student or clinical fellow to accrue two hours of supervision/clinical instruction training once in his or her career.

NOTES RE: SC Board of Examiners Requirements:

  • The SC Board of examiners in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology requires that at least one half of the continuing education requirement for the biennial renewal of the license “must pertain to clinical practice in the area of licensure,” which equates to a minimum of eight hours every two years, with a total of 16 hours of approved continuing education credit required to renew the SLP license. 
  • For more information on SC LLR license continuing education requirements and which types of CEUs are accepted by SC LLR, please refer to Regulatory Chapter 115 section 6. SC LLR does accept hours with ASHA CEUs as well as continuing education courses offered by SCSHA for required continuing education.

GENERAL NOTES:  

  • CE Time must be reported by Monday, February 9, 2026, at Midnight using the CE Reporting Instructions detailed above.
  • The only way to receive an CE certificate and have your CE time reported to ASHA is to complete the electronic reporting process detailed above.
